Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, with an area of 10 feet x 20 feet recommended. Height clearance: 12 feet to accommodate standard pallet stacking.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The warehouse must be well-ventilated to prevent stagnant air and potential odor buildup. Ensure the area is free from dust and debris.
Special Handling: Spirits are considered fragile. All bottles must be individually padded with protective foam or bubble wrap. Pallets should be reinforced to prevent damage during handling. Boxes should be clearly labeled “Fragile – Spirits” in large, bold lettering.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is ideal, utilizing 48” high pallets. Shelving units with adjustable shelves are acceptable, with a maximum shelf height of 54 inches. Ensure shelving is robust enough to support the weight of stacked bottles.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft x 10ft loading dock is required. Dock door width should be a minimum of 10 feet. A clear aisle space of 8 feet is needed for forklift access around the storage area. Door swing should be assessed to minimize obstruction. A door width of 9 feet is recommended.
