Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 100 square feet per bale, with an area of 10ft x 10ft recommended for efficient storage. Height clearance should be a minimum of 12 feet to accommodate stacking. Allow for 4ft of access space around each bale.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. Ensure adequate airflow to prevent moisture buildup and potential damage. Storage should be on a level, stable floor. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Bales are considered fragile and should be handled with care. Utilize protective padding (such as wood planks or cardboard) when stacking to prevent damage to the faces of the bales.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is ideal, utilizing standard 48” high pallets. Stacking bales to a maximum of 3 pallets high is permitted, provided the structure can safely support the weight. Shelving is optional but recommended for organizing and maximizing space.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet is required for easy access. The warehouse door should be at least 10 feet wide with a clear opening of 14 feet. A minimum of 8ft of clearance space is needed for forklift operation around each bale stack.
