Secure Granite Blocks: Expert Storage, Peace of Mind.
Granite blocks represent a durable and valuable material, and a strategically designed warehouse storage solution is essential for their long-term preservation and accessibility. Warehouse storage provides a secure and stable environment, significantly minimizing the risk of damage during storage. Blocks should be arranged on pallets, ideally with sufficient spacing between them to allow for airflow and prevent stacking pressures. Utilizing sturdy, industrial-grade pallets is crucial for supporting the blocks’ considerable weight. Careful consideration should be given to floor loading to avoid potential settling or shifting.
A well-organized warehouse offers optimized space utilization, allowing for efficient inventory management and rapid retrieval. The inherent stability of a warehouse environment, combined with proper handling procedures, protects the blocks from dust, debris, and potential impacts. Furthermore, warehouse storage provides enhanced security, safeguarding against unauthorized access and theft. Strategic placement near loading docks simplifies receiving and shipping, streamlining your operations and ensuring a consistent supply of these robust granite blocks. The warehouse’s robust structure offers a reliable and cost-effective solution for safeguarding this premium product.
Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 sq ft (10ft x 20ft) area. Height clearance: 12 feet. Allow for 3ft of aisle space between storage locations.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage area is required. The space must be well-ventilated to prevent dust accumulation. The floor should be level and capable of supporting the weight of the granite blocks. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Granite blocks are heavy and potentially fragile. Each block requires a minimum of 4 inches of padding on all sides for protection during handling and storage. Palletized loads should be secured with straps to prevent shifting.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is recommended. Pallets should be 48” x 40” and constructed of wood. Consider using interlocking pallet racking for efficient space utilization. Maximum stacking height should be no more than 4 pallets (48” x 40” x 8ft).
Access Requirements: Loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet and a door width of 10 feet. A clear aisle space of 8 feet is needed for forklift access. Ensure adequate space (12ft x 12ft) around each storage location for forklift maneuverability.
