Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 sq ft area, 10ft x 20ft footprint. Height clearance: 12 feet. A dedicated area of at least 8ft x 12ft is recommended for each roll of geomembrane.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The storage area should be well-ventilated to prevent moisture buildup. Floors should be level and clean. Avoid storing geomembranes under areas prone to water accumulation.
Special Handling: Geomembranes are considered fragile. Each roll must be secured with straps or banding. Use protective padding, such as blankets or foam, around the edges of each roll to prevent damage during handling. Utilize palletized storage with appropriate load limits.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is the preferred method. Shelving is not recommended due to the weight and size of the rolls. Maximum stack height of 3 pallets is advised, ensuring stability. Pallets should be constructed of wood and be at least 48” wide.
Access Requirements: Loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet. Door width: 10 feet. A clear aisle space of 8 feet is required for maneuvering forklifts and access to rolls. Forklift capacity: Minimum 5,000 lbs.
