Space Requirements
- Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet, or a 10ft x 15ft area. Height clearance: 12 feet is recommended for efficient storage.
- Storage Conditions: The storage area should be dry and well-ventilated. Ensure the floor is level and clean to prevent damage. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. Dust control is important.
- Special Handling: Felt cushioning is a relatively delicate material. It should be stored with adequate padding – bubble wrap or cardboard – to protect it from surface abrasion during handling and stacking. Palletized stacking is encouraged.
- Stacking/Shelving: Items can be stacked up to 5 pallets high, utilizing standard pallet dimensions (48" x 40"). Shelving units with adjustable racking are suitable, allowing for vertical space optimization. Ensure shelving is sturdy and capable of supporting the weight.
- Access Requirements: The loading dock should be at least 12 feet wide and 16 feet long. A standard 10ft wide access door with a clear opening of 9ft is sufficient. Provide a minimum of 8ft of clearance space around each palletized load for forklift maneuverability. Pallet dimensions should be clearly marked.
