Protect Your Pressure Treated – Secure Storage Solutions.
Storing pressure-treated lumber within a robust warehouse facility offers significant advantages for businesses managing this valuable material. Warehouse storage provides a secure, organized, and protected environment, crucial for maintaining the integrity of the wood and ensuring optimal product quality. The expansive spaces within a warehouse allow for efficient pallet racking systems, maximizing storage density and streamlining material flow. Properly constructed warehouse buildings offer protection from the elements, shielding lumber from direct sunlight, rain, and falling debris. The structured environment minimizes dust accumulation, a key factor in preserving the wood's protective coating. Furthermore, warehouse storage facilitates effective inventory management, enabling accurate tracking and rapid retrieval. Utilizing appropriate racking systems optimizes space and reduces the risk of damage from stacking and handling. A warehouse’s inherent structural integrity provides a stable foundation, minimizing movement and vibration—both factors that can compromise the wood’s durability. This robust storage solution contributes directly to maintaining the protective qualities of the pressure-treated lumber, making it a strategic choice for businesses requiring reliable and organized material storage.
Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet, 12ft x 12ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. A dedicated aisle space of at least 8 feet wide is required for access.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to minimize potential moisture buildup. Items should be stored on a level surface, away from direct sunlight.
Special Handling: Pressure-treated lumber is considered fragile. Each piece should be individually wrapped with protective padding, such as bubble wrap or cardboard, to prevent damage during handling and storage. Pallets should be reinforced if necessary.
Stacking/Shelving: Items can be stacked on pallets, with a maximum pallet height of 5 feet. Shelving units with adjustable shelves are recommended to maximize storage space. Pallet dimensions should be no larger than 48” x 40”.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet is required. The dock door should be at least 10 feet wide with a clear opening of 10 feet. A minimum clearance of 10 feet should be maintained between the loading dock and the storage area. Forklift access is needed.
