Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 80 square feet, 10ft x 8ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. This allows for approximately 20-25 linear feet of storage.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area should be well-ventilated to prevent moisture buildup. Storage should be on a level floor to prevent damage to the zucchini.
Special Handling: Zucchini is a delicate vegetable. Each zucchini should be individually wrapped in protective padding (bubble wrap or similar) to prevent bruising and damage during handling. Items should be handled with care to avoid crushing.
Stacking/Shelving: Pallet storage is recommended. Utilize 48” high shelving units to maximize vertical space. Stacking should be limited to no more than three layers of zucchini per pallet. Pallets should be constructed of wood to avoid scratching the produce.
Access Requirements: Loading dock needs a minimum 12ft x 10ft area for truck access. The warehouse door should be at least 9 feet wide for easy loading and unloading. A clearance space of 8 feet adjacent to the loading dock is required for forklift maneuverability. Ensure adequate aisle space for movement.
