Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, 20ft x 10ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. This allows for approximately 50 instruments to be stored, depending on size.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage, well-ventilated area. Ensure the space is free from dust and debris. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading of instrument finishes. Regular inspections for pest activity are recommended.
Special Handling: Instruments are generally fragile. All items should be stored with adequate padding – bubble wrap, foam, or cardboard. Larger instruments, like drums or guitars, should be placed on padded platforms. Protect delicate components with extra cushioning.
Stacking/Shelving: Shelving units with adjustable heights are recommended. Max stacking height: 4 shelves, with a maximum weight capacity of 50 lbs per shelf. Pallet storage is acceptable for larger instruments, utilizing pallets that are 48" x 40".
Access Requirements: Loading dock needs a minimum width of 12 feet. Door width: 10 feet. A clearance space of 8 feet is required around each shelving unit and pallet location for access. Forklift access is necessary for moving pallets. Ensure adequate aisle space for maneuvering equipment.
