Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet or a 10ft x 20ft area. Height clearance should be a minimum of 10 feet to accommodate larger rugs. Allow for 4ft of aisle space between storage locations.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. Flooring should be level and durable, preferably concrete or epoxy. Avoid areas prone to water accumulation.
Special Handling: Rugs are considered delicate items. Utilize protective padding such as moving blankets or foam sheeting to prevent creases, snags, and damage during storage. Palletize rugs for heavier items. Consider using cardboard dividers between rugs.
Stacking/Shelving: Rugs can be stacked no more than 3 units high. Pallet storage is recommended, utilizing standard 48" x 40" pallets. Shelving units with adjustable height are acceptable if used with adequate padding.
Access Requirements: A loading dock with a minimum width of 12 feet is required. Door width should be a minimum of 9 feet. A clearance space of 8 feet adjacent to the loading dock is needed for forklift maneuvering. Forklift capacity should be a minimum of 5,000 lbs.
