Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 200 square feet, ideally 20ft x 10ft, with a height clearance of 9 feet. A dedicated area of 15ft x 12ft is recommended for increased flexibility.
Storage Conditions: Dry storage is essential. The area must be well-ventilated to prevent mildew or mold growth. Dust and debris should be minimized through regular cleaning. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
Special Handling: Custom-made footwear is considered fragile. Each pair requires individual padding with protective wrapping (bubble wrap, foam inserts) to prevent damage during storage and retrieval. Palletizing is discouraged due to the delicate nature of the items.
Stacking/Shelving: Items should be stored on a raised pallet system, approximately 36 inches high, to minimize floor contact. Shelving is not recommended due to the risk of damage. Stacking should be limited to a maximum of two pallets high.
Access Requirements: A standard 12ft x 12ft loading dock is required for truck access. The warehouse door should be at least 9 feet wide with a minimum clearance of 3 feet on either side for forklift maneuvering. Forklifts with a lifting capacity of 1,500 lbs are necessary.
