Storage Size/Dimensions: Minimum 150 square feet, 12ft x 12ft area, Height clearance: 9 feet. A dedicated aisle space of 4 feet wide is required alongside the storage area.
Storage Conditions: The storage area must be dry and well-ventilated. The floor should be level and clean. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. Storage should be on a stable, solid surface.
Special Handling: Glass plates are fragile. Each plate must be individually wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and then cushioned with bubble wrap for protection. A minimum of 2 inches of padding should be used between stacked items. Handle with care, minimizing jarring movements.
Stacking/Shelving: Shelving units with adjustable heights are recommended. Shelves should be designed to support a maximum weight of 50 lbs per shelf. Pallet storage (48” x 40” pallets) is acceptable, but stacking height should not exceed 4 levels. Ensure shelves are securely anchored to the floor.
Access Requirements: Loading dock needs a 12ft x 10ft access area. The main warehouse door should be a minimum of 9ft wide. A clear space of 8 feet is needed for forklift maneuverability around the storage area. A secondary access door, 6ft wide, is recommended for personnel access.
